Responsibilities

Corporate Benefits Manager responsible for administration of employee benefits in all company operations. Provides special guidance, education, training and assistance to all company locations on various employee benefit plans. Develops annual Open Enrollment strategy and timeline, coordination and roll out at facility level: benefit fairs, employee communication, electronic/on-line enrollment programming and testing, update rates/deductions/payroll schedules, ID card distribution, carrier interfaces, implementation of newly approved or modified employee benefit policies. Oversee dependent audit process. Supervises daily administration of existing benefits, including execution of new policies and carrier billing to all company locations. Develops and executes written Policy and Procedure guidelines. Understanding of Self-funding, Stoploss, Pharmacy Benefit Management, ERISA guidelines, Affordable Care Act, Section 125, HIPAA and PHI. Oversees annual reporting and filings, ensures accuracy of data and meets appropriate deadlines for 5500 / SAR, Creditable Coverage and Medicare Part D CMS disclosures, CMS demand letters, Healthcare Exchange Appeals, Covered California Appeals, 1095-C, PCORI, Form 720 and Non-Discrimination Testing. Updates and maintains electronic postings to the SharePoint benefits section: Plan Documents and Amendments, Summary of Material Modifications, Company Memos, Benefit Summaries and all other benefits related material. Ability to review, interpret and edit all Plan Documents and Contracts as applied to employer sponsored benefit policies. 25% travel required in and outside California.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

Required qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or five (5) years of experience in Benefits Administration overseeing a large Health and Welfare plan.

2. Bachelor's degree and appropriate work history with a Carrier and / or Third Party Administrator (TPA)

3. 10 years of appropriate combination of education and experience in benefits field

Preferred qualifications:

1. A master's degree and four (4) years experience in Benefits Administration, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $70,200.00 to $124,800.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
