Job Description: This position provides accounting and analytical skills to support the financial management for Nevada's largest healthcare provider, The Valley Health System, a Universal Health Services company. This includes 8 hospitals throughout Las Vegas region and Northern and Western Nevada, Free Standing ER's, physician practices, and surgical centers. The work environment is a energetic fast-paced/fast-growing dynamic setting. Job Duties include: Statistical reporting, General Ledger journal entries, financial statement and schedule preparations, month end financial close, Fixed Asset accounting, inventories, bank reconciliations, review of balance sheet accounts, and variance reporting. Healthcare finance training will be provided.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Experience: Two or more years of general ledger accounting experience required. Healthcare experience a plus but not required. Experience with a large organization that had multiple locations preferred.

Technical Skills: Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word ,Microsoft Excel, and Accounting Database, 10 key proficiency. Mathematical aptitude including working with fractions, percentages, and ratios. Previous ERP systems preferred. Willingness to learn.

Other: Understanding accrual accounting and double entry general ledger entries. Understanding the accounting cycle and month end close process.
