Our Las Vegas facility is not an assembly line but operates in a work cell design in individual workstations to remanufacture products stage by stage. Wabtec Las Vegas manufactures and remanufactures UX Traction Motor Combinations for locomotives.
Remanufacturing Technician
Compensation:
$21.48 an hour with wage increase to $22.07 in 6 months and to $24.00 at 1 year of service.
$1 shift differential for 2nd shift
Available Shift:
1st shift: 5:30a.m. to 2p.m. Monday-Friday
2nd shift 2:30p.m. to 11p.m. Monday-Friday

Remanufacturing Technician
The Remanufacturing Service Technician will disassemble, assemble, clean, requalify, and rework operations on locomotive traction motor combo components utilizing manual and automated equipment in accordance with safe manufacturing and quality procedures. In this role you will inspect, repair, and test completed locomotive traction motor combo components.
The ideal candidate needs experience utilizing manual and automated production equipment, various hydraulic and pneumatic tools for completion. Someone who is mechanically inclined and has a background in auto, electrical and mechanical repair. Also this candidate has one year of experience in the aforementioned or mechanical and/or electrical assembly, and loves working with their hands. This is a true manufacturing environment, and our technicians are crossed trained to ensure a continuity of service.
Responsibilities:
Provide support for manufacturing or remanufacturing of UX Traction Motor Combo components for the facility
Utilize manual and automated production equipment, various hydraulic, or pneumatic tools for completion of responsibilities in accordance with in-house manufacturing and quality procedures to ensure all products meet specified requirements
Inspect work components to internal inspection criteria for compliance to quality and engineering requirements utilizing fixtures, precision measuring devices, and / or testing protocols
Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment
Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs
Process components in compliance with internal processing requirements
Work to improve 5S within work cell using continuous improvement and kaizen tools
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older
High-school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred
Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs and safety shoes
Must be willing to work in a tobacco-free environment
Be willing to take a drug test
Be willing to submit to random drug tests

Must be willing to work as necessary to meet requirements of the position, including the ability to work occasional weekends and scheduled overtime
DESIRED SKILL SET:
Knowledge of EHS procedures and policies
Ability to regularly lift and handle tools and materials up to 50 pounds
Ability to use manual equipment and hand tools safely
Working knowledge of inspection measurement equipment
Understanding of manufacturing and quality procedures in a lean manufacturing environment
Prior fork truck and overhead crane experience
Ability to work effectively on a team
