Dependable Health Services began in Tucson, Arizona, in 1992, when CEO Joe Schifano started Dependable Nurses, Inc. Since that time, the Dependable Company has grown to include full home health-care services in addition to facility staffing.

The client’s chronic needs influence the structure of the authorization for visits and dictates, in a large part, the length of the therapeutic relationship. In contrast to other types of health insurers which focus on short-term periods of service related to episodic illness or injury, LTC insurance providers manage their chronically ill members proactively by sending home health services to provide ongoing skilled nursing assessments aimed at keeping the client from needing expensive hospitalization or extended nursing home stays.
